Poppa Goodman's Macaroni Casserole

Better than a box mix.

Winston Goodman, guitarist of the Vice Men, comes from the northwest part of the country where no comfort food is better than a big bowl of macaroni and cheese. In his childhood years, Winston's beloved Poppa took this recipe out of one of his mother's cookbooks and made it his own with just a few tweaks. Pair it with a bowl of West Herd style chili and your tastebuds will be in heaven!

Poppa Goodman's Macaroni Casserole

Ingredients

6 oz macaroni
1 can condensed cheddar cheese soup
Half cup whole milk
Dash pepper
Half pound American cheese slices (note from Winston: not the fake cheese kind! get them from the deli!)
Quarter pound medium cheddar cheese slices

How to cook
1. Cook macaroni in boiling water until tender
2. Combine soup, milk, and pepper in a bowl to make sauce
3. In a GREASED (very important!) 2 quart casserole dish layer macaroni, then sauce, then cheese, and repeat until the casserole dish is full up
4. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes

Note: Winston's recipe is based on the real-world recipe from the 1953 Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. Try that one out sometime, too!
